Meta POS ("we," "us," or "our") operates the point-of-sale and related business systems. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have. By visiting our store or transacting with us, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

a) Information you provide directly

  • Your name, phone number, and email address (when you sign up for loyalty, request an invoice, or accept marketing communications)
  • Billing address and tax identification number (e.g., GST/VAT) where required for invoicing
  • Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback, complaints)

b) Transaction information

  • Items purchased, quantities, prices, and any discounts applied
  • Payment method type (cash, card, UPI, bank transfer, etc.) — we do not store full card numbers; only the last 4 digits or a transaction reference returned by the payment gateway
  • Date, time, and store location of the transaction
  • Returns, refunds, and exchanges associated with your purchases

c) Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, and device identifiers when you use our online services (if any)
  • Cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 6

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process your transactions and issue receipts/invoices
  • Operate and improve our store operations, inventory, and customer service
  • Handle returns, exchanges, refunds, and disputes
  • Send transaction confirmations, service messages, and (with your consent) promotions and loyalty offers
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or misuse
  • Comply with tax, accounting, and other legal obligations

3. Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information only as described here:

  • Payment processors — to authorize and settle payments. They process information under their own privacy policies.
  • Tax authorities and regulators — when we are legally required to report transactions or respond to lawful requests.
  • Service providers who help us run the business — bound by confidentiality and only with the data necessary for their service.
  • In a corporate event — if Meta POS is acquired, merged, or transfers assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers we manage and is protected with industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including access controls, encrypted backups, and TLS-encrypted transmission. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work continuously to protect your information.

We retain transaction records for as long as required by applicable tax, accounting, and consumer-protection laws, and longer if necessary to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.

5. International Transfers

If you are located outside the country where our servers operate and your information is transferred, you consent to that transfer. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Our online services may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the service is used. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but some features may not work properly without them.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Delete your information ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention requirements
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice before they take effect.

We aim to respond to all inquiries within 30 days.
